Deleted emails keep repopulating!

I sorted my emails by « from » and then have been bulk-deleting them using the shift-key. Whether I click on « delete » after they’re highlighted, or drag & drop into the Delete folder, sometimes after getting a message asking if I really want to delete 241 or whatever emails — YES!! — they disappear and then reappear back in my INBOX. WHY????

PS. Currently working with ATT.net mail on my Mac in the native mail app. I want them to delete from all my devices, too.

Hello LesGB,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to delete emails in the Mail app on your Mac, as they come back. A good first step is to rebuild the inbox with these steps:

1. "In the Mail app  on your Mac, select a mailbox in the sidebar.
2. Choose Mailbox > Rebuild.
When you rebuild mailboxes for IMAP or Exchange accounts, messages and attachments stored on your Mac are discarded, and then downloaded again from the mail server to your Mac. Your mailbox appears empty until the download is complete."

And that is from here: Rebuild mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support We would also recommend going to the ATT.net website and try deleting from the website and see if you see the same behavior.

Cheers!
