Updating Using a Computer via Ethernet:

Then my User Tip would not apply to those who don’t have access to a computer. If you do not have WiFi, then use Ethernet, and I mentioned in my User Tip. So, if you don’t have a computer, and know someone who may, then ask that someone, if you can you their computer this, while standing at your side.

Update Using Cellular:

Whats the model of your iPhone? You may be able to update using cellular, given you have the available services and compatible device:

• Cellular: Use an iPhone 12 or later, that is using 5G, in order to update over Cellular - User Tip

B. Use of Ethernet:

If WiFi will not work on your computer, while trying to perform the upgrade, then try connecting, using Ethernet. If no Ethernet port, try this adapter: The Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter - Apple

Update Using a Computer:

Rather than ridiculously waiting oh so long, power off your iPhone, and then attempt updating through use of a computer. Use my User Tip: Update your iPhone Using a Computer - User Tip

Work your way through the Apple Support document linked below to identify the common reasons for an update issue. A computer would not be required in most cases.

If you have already done this, what was the result when you contacted Apple Support?

Not everybody even has a computer to do this with, much less bothers to have iTunes on one.

An hour on with support, and the answer was: A computer is required, or you have to go to an Apple store.
