Can I stop watch counting arm movements as steps?
Is there any way of changing things in the settings? I purchased this Apple Watch thinking GPS would record my steps more accurately. My Samsung watch was more accurate than this one.

If you think about normal walking or running movement, arm and leg motions are linked. Your arm movements should reflect the number of steps (unless you are conducting an orchestra).
You can find more details about accuracy and calibration in Calibrate your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support

That is how the Apple Watch counts steps, by counting arm swings.
You cannot change it.

Thank you for your reply. I have been standing still ironing today, and this has recorded over 5000 steps.
I was hoping it would be more accurate. I am more than a little disappointed. I have only just swapped from Samsung to Apple iPhone and presumed this would be more advanced.
