Can you paste the lifted subject onto another photo in your library?
I want to paste images of my pets onto other photos, like a cat staring into outer space. I can lift the image but can’t seem to paste it.

Did not update to iOS 17 yet but don’t see why you can not make it into a sticker as you can save the cut out photo as is without overlaying it on another image.

Hello Way-seeker80,
You came from this resource: Create and share photo cutouts on your iPhone
Which likely means you're using an iOS device, like an iPhone. If that's the case, then you wouldn't be able to paste the cutout image into another photo within the Photos app. As mentioned in the resource above:
Once you copy the subject of a photo, you can share it through apps like Messages or Mail or use AirDrop. You can also copy and paste it in other apps like Notes.
Photo cutouts are available in iOS 16 and later on iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later.
In case you'd like to provide feedback about this feature, we'd recommend doing so here: Product Feedback
Keep in mind, Apple reviews all feedback but you may not hear back on any given. Apple does not request unsolicited ideas.
Take care.
If you use the built in “Shortcuts” app you can get an already made shortcut called “Overlay Images” It works great. Make sure to add it to your “Share Menu” and it works even better.
