Warning message when using the disk utility first aid

I’ve been learning a lot by doing my own simple repairs on my 13-inch 2020 macbook pro M1, by searching the internet & figuring out what was needed for whatever the problem was. For the last few months, I get the below messages

  warning:_inode (id 22530533): dir-stats key xf does not exist, despite internal_flags (0x8412)

  warning:_inode (id 22530535: dir-stats key xf does not exist, despite internal_flags (0x8412)

  warning:_inode (id 22530375): dir-stats key xf does not exist, despite internal_flags (0x8412)

etc…

when using the First aid mode in the Disk Utility. The computer still runs well since I’ve gotten these messages but it worries me a bit. Could anybody tell me what this means & can I fix it myself or should I take it to a professional computer place because it is a complicated fix?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

They are "warnings" so theoretically they should not interfere with normal operations. If they are instead "errors" and they are unfixed, then you would definitely need to address the issue since they almost always because "errors" almost always cause a problem.

At this time the only way to fix "warnings" or unfixed "errors" is by erasing the drive followed by reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup. So I would agree with @P. Phillips to ignore the "warnings" if you are not having any problems. If you are having issues, then more likely you are encountering issues with third party software or a configuration issue.

Apple has several Builtin Maintenance routines that run automatically in the the background.

That includes; fsck_hfs and fsck_apfs_error and if an error should occur, it would attempt to fix it.

If it could not, then it would alert the User ( you ) of this issue and may present a suggestion to fix it.

You may well intended in you efforts but at the same time looking for a problem that not really a problem.

That is, unless the computer is not performing or not performing as expected.

Then yes - worth the efforts

Is the computer malfunctioning ? If not, let it alone and enjoy using the machine
