iMac Big Sur update to iMac OS Ventura "Finding update".

Hi,

I have a 2017 iMac that is still on MacOS Big Sur, and I'm trying to download MacOS Ventura. When I try and download it through System Preferences>Software Updates, it does not find any updates for the computer, and when I go to the App Store and search MacOS Ventura, it appears, and I press on view, and then get. Next, a System Preferences window opens that displays "Finding Update" with the blue loading bar at the bottom. It never finds the update, and just keeps on displaying the same thing.
