Cannot set up email on iPhone

I’m trying to add an email account to my iPhone 14 but it’s not working.

i add the account, enter all the pertinent information when I’m finished, it starts the verifying process & j get the message

No password provided for "mydomain".

Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password.

I have entered the password every place I’m asked to, including places where it’s shown as optional & always the same result!

I even tried with another phone & no charge.

Remove your email account and set it up again

Make sure that all of your emails are there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts. Tap the email account that you want to remove. Tap Delete Account.

The phones in question have never been corporate phones. The original phone was a friends iPhone 13, whose problem started when she inadvertently let her domain expire. Not realizing this was the root of the problem, she went to an AT&T store, where they couldn’t figure it out & deleted the email account in the process. Once I got the domain renewed, mail started working on her PC, as well as on Network Solutions webmail page. When I got the phone, I tried setting up the account, using the ‘other’ option, but kept getting stuck on the same error message, when verifying the account, that there was no password provided. I then had the idea of trying to add the account to my phone, to try & isolate where the problem was coming from & since both iPhones are getting the same error, at the same point in the process, it would seem it’s an Apple issue. I’ve deleted the account off of her phone several times & started over only to arrive at the same result.
