Unable to set up my Apple TV

My Nettwerk appears in the selection, and then when I click on it to connect, I simply get a message that the password I entered is incorrect, but it did not give me the option to enter a password when I go to other networks that are not mine and click on those and asked me to enter a password. I’m very confused. Not sure why I don’t have the option to enter a password for my net work.

Apple TV (1st generation)

What is your model Apple TV?

Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

Find your Apple TV model number - Apple Support

The original Apple TV box (2007) seems unlikely, as that isn’t functional anymore in any meaningful way since 2018-05.

… network password I entered is [said to be] incorrect …
  1. Try the steps as mentioned in: If your Apple TV can't connect to Wi-Fi - Apple Support
  2. Try the ‘Other…’ option instead of selecting a listed discovered network. Especially if the password has been changed.
  3. For Apple TV (4th generation or earlier), verify that the router or access point isn’t set to use WPA3, as only device models from ~2018 or later support that. Instead use ‘WPA2/WPA3 Transitional’. Some users report that they had to set ‘WPA2’-only first.
