Unable to download watch IOS 8.8.1

Hi. I think I have the series 3 Apple Watch. I’ve been trying to update my watch but it either will say unable to download. Or when it is downloading it pauses and says, will resume when connected to wifi network. Even though I’m connected wifi.

Try and update your watch from your watch itself instead of your paired iPhone

If your Apple Watch has watchOS 6 or later, you can install updates without your iPhone:

Make sure that your watch is connected to Wi-Fi.
On your watch, open the Settings app.
Tap General > Software Update.
Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
