I'm taking some screen shots of maps and I want to use arrows to designate certain specific locations. I've done this many times before, but for some reason now the arrows are greyed out and I can't use them. Can someone please explain how I can access the arrows again? Thanks.

are you asking about the Preview.app to make changes to your screens shots...(?)
If you do not see—Shift Command A opens the "Markup tool" and make a color selection

You are in the wrong drop down...
You have to get the arrow on the screen before you can change it's thickness or orientation

Thanks again for your help, but I have another issue. The pen feature at the top is also greyed out and I need to underscore and circle some things.I tried to see if there was some other drop down that I needed to go to first to make that feature accessible, but I couldn't find anything.
