I have a brand new Mac mini with M2 chip. I am new to the Mac as well, I don't know what or if I did something to get the "TERMINAL" DOS-looking icon on my dock. is it malware working or did I do something wrong? I am concerned why it's there and appreciate any input that would help me understand the how and why and how to get rid of it. Thank you!

Troubleshooting Items on the Dock:
You probably drag-&-dropped it to the Dock when you were last in the Utilities menu. So, drag-&-drop the Terminal app icon to the Trash, and it will be removed. If it is open, then you probably opened it, and you would need to close it to remove ti from the Dock.

Scan with Malwarebytes for Mac:
Start with running a scan for malware, using Malwarebytes for Mac and remove what is found. Perhaps something was installed that made this occur. Remove what is found from the quarantine. Malware is short for: Malicious Software, which makes you computer act in a mislead manor.
