You need to sign out of your Microsoft account first on the old computer. Latest versions use signing in to the MS account to gain activation.
Even then, be prepared to chat with MS. They no longer do phone activation, just chat sessions.

Yes. You will need to log in with the associated account at Microsoft.com to get the installer on the new Mac.
I would think probably so...but that's a question you need to direct to Microsoft.

I am unable to find a human to communicate with at Microsoft. Their phone system hangs up after it gives me an ambiguous/erroneous answer to my question. Very disappointing. AI is almost in full swing. Thanks Mike and Phil0124 I appreciate your time and suggestions.
