Audio drops with Apple TV+ app on LG TV

Within the last 2 weeks the Apple TV+ app I’m using on my LG TV keeps having audio drops. It’s not all programs, so far it’s just Crowded Room and Afterparty where I’ve experienced this. The audio is fine to start with, and then it just drops - and video then stutters as well.

I stress it’s not all tv programs on the app, and the same programs work fine on my ipad.

I’ve checked and there are no LG updates for the tv+ app available.

I’ve reset the app without success.

I’m now stuck as to what else it could be …anyone else got the same problems?

You mentioned resetting the app, and we do want to make sure you used the steps below to perform that reset:

1. Go to your device's app store and search for the Apple TV app or Apple TV+ app. If you don't see the app that you're looking for, check your device's compatibility.1

2. Download the app.

3. Open the app and follow the instructions to complete setup.

If you're not signed in with your Apple ID, open the app and go to Settings > Accounts. Then choose a sign in option.

* Sign In On Mobile Device: Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code on the TV screen. Then follow the instructions on your mobile device.

* On This TV: Use your TV remote to manually sign in with your Apple ID and complete setup.

If this continues after the reset, are you noticing this with any other audio, or is it isolated to just the shows you mentioned?

Yes I have already followed those steps and the same issue remains.

no other audio seems affected - I have other streaming services on the same device and they all work fine. It’s just those shows (and apparently Hijack as mentioned above)

spoke to very helpful Migel at Apple who was looking into it for me. But in the meantime I’ve found a solution - in the app settings I switched ‘limit playback to SD’ to on and hey presto sound is on all the new shows that were cutting out.

Exactly the same problem here. I’ve deleted Apple TV+ app and reinstalled. Not all programmes are affected. Watching Swagger it’s fine. Tried watching Hijack and Crowded Room - both start fine and about 10/15 secs in the audio disappears. Can watch fine on my IPad

Any progress from Apple on this? I have the same problem. I don’t really want to watch in SD though - looks terrible on a big 4K screen.

Progress from Apple? Don’t be silly, of course not. My solution was to subscribe to Disney+ instead.
