B&O Beolit 20 bluetooth pairing with MacBook Pro

I have a MacBook Pro running on macOS Ventura and I am pairing it with my B&O Beolit 20 (bluetooth appears connected to external device) - however the computer output volume still comes from MacBook's speakers.

I have tried forgetting the external device and restarting both the laptop and speakers but the issue remains.

Can anyone help with this?

There are two things that must be done to have your MacBook Pro's sound come out of the Beolit 20. You have done the first one, turn on the Beolit 20, and connect it in the Bluetooth menu.

Next, you must choose to have the Beolit 20 be the device that plays your sound. In System Settings—>Sound, under Output & Input, select Output. From the menu, choose Beolit 20. It appears in the list of devices only when it is on and connected.

Once you have the sound coming from the Beolit 20, go to YouTube, and search for the video with the title "Flash Mob - Gustav Holst - The Planets: Jupiter (Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra). You will be amazed at how well the Beolit 20 plays the plucked bass notes.
