Voice control in chess still broken in MacOS Ventura (broken since High Sierra?)

Voice control of chess is still not working on a new M2 Mac with MacOS Ventura. I stopped upgrading my 2012 MacBook Pro because chess voice control did not work in OSX High Sierra, and downgraded it to OSX Sierra. However, I cannot downgrade my new Mac to OSX Sierra to get chess voice control working. Are Apple going to fix this and the other serious usability problems in Ventura, or is it time to switch to a better brand?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.4

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Hi, Just an update. Chess voice control is still not working properly in MacOS Ventura 13.6.1. It is very inaccurate, it has to redownload the voice control every time chess is opened, the microphone level icon shows no fluctuating level. Re-installation of Ventura makes no difference. I use my old 2012 MacBook running Sierra to play chess now, it is perfect. Actually the 2012 MacBook (non-retina) it is a far more flexible and reliable machine than my new M2 Macbook, (which is now keeping dust off my bookshelf most of the time!)
