iCloud Photos: possible to limit what albums are synced to iPhone?
I use my Mac as the primary home for all of my photos, going back years now. Originally I synced manually, and then had 3 specific folders syncing back to my iPhone.
With the demise of Photo Stream, I upgraded to iCloud+ and turned on iCloud Photos Sync to help keep photos synced in case I ever forget to do a manual transfer.
- On the Mac, in the Photos app preferences I have the iCloud Photos setting to "Download Originals to this Mac"
- On my iPhone, in the Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Photos preferences, I have "Optimize iPhone Storage"
On the initial sync, allllllll of the albums from my Mac have now been copied over to my iPhone. Dozens upon dozens of folders, from back when iPhoto used to automatically create a new folder for all pics taken on a particular day.
Is there any way to limit this functionality? I want new photos from my iPhone going to iCloud (and then down to the Mac), but I don't want all the old photo albums from my Mac coming to the phone
