Sometimes the timeline is magnetic.
For example, I can drag a title to the start point of a clip, and they'll match automatically.
But sometimes, it just suddenly disappears.
Is there a reason why that happened?

Usually, if I want the title to align with the clip's start, I can drag it there, and the start points will match.
But sometimes, they don't match automatically. The title might be slightly away from the clip's start (as shown in the picture) because I couldn't match them manually.
Other situations include:
Usually, I can click on the cutting point (or start/end point) easily. When I move the red line near the point and click, I can make a white line right there at the point.
But sometimes, the white line won't be there automatically after clicking. There might be a slight distance between the line and the cutting point (as shown in the picture).
It doesn't connect automatically because you have Snapping turned off.
To toggle it on or off press the N key.
The symbol that is arrowed turns blue when Snapping is on.
You can also toggle snapping on or off by clicking that symbol but hitting the N key is quicker.
It is hard to imagine what may be happening. Perhaps you can post a screenshot and explain what exactly you are dragging and where?
