Repeating calendar notifications

I have certain calendar notifications with one single alert at the time of the event and sometimes out of nowhere some of these event alert me like 3 times with about 5 minutes interval regardless of the alert only being for the at the time of event. Any pointers on how to fix this?

Same. I have a Microsoft Exchange work account connected to Apple Calendar, and I get invited to the same meeting over & over on my Apple Watch. Without fail it surfaces the notification like 4-7 times in a row. All for the same reoccurring meeting invite. And it re-invites me to ones that already happened in the past. Obnoxious.

This happens to me as well, sometimes 40 min after an event has started. No it is not a shared calendar events. No it is not from an imported calendar. I make the event in my iPhone calendar with one or occasionally two notifications (this doesn’t seem to make a difference). The notifications I requested do go off as expected, however I get additional notifications like I’ve hit snooze on an alarm clock, or sometimes 30-40 minutes after an event has started.

Hi Ferdinandspirit,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like this happens with certain events and that you have checked notification settings. Right?

In that case, are these shared calendar events? It could be that you are getting a notification due to someone else modifying the upcoming event. Try these steps from Share iCloud calendars on iPhone - Apple Support

Turn off notifications for shared calendars
When someone modifies a calendar you’re sharing, you’re notified of the change. You can turn off notifications, if you don’t want to receive them.
1. Go to Settings  > Notifications > Calendar > Customize Notifications.
2. Turn off Shared Calendar Changes.

If the same continues, are these events from a particular calendar? That might narrow things down.

All the best.

This same thing happens to me and more annoyingly those alerts will continue after an event has already begun. I keep getting reminders for meetings I’m already in. It’s so obnoxious. Every thread I’ve read on this the answer is always completely unrelated to the problem like it’s AI responses instead of people actually reading and understanding the question. Have you gotten anywhere with this? I speculate that it might have something to do with the “time to leave” alert if you ever use that. But I’m not sure, I think it happens on events where I’ve had that of, too. All I know is I want it to stop. Hopefully you figured it out.
