I have the settings to always show notifications but I don’t receive any for messages I receive. I get the red badge, but I have to look it doesn’t pop up if I’m using my phone or it’s sitting idle.
I’m on iOS 16.5.1 so that’s not the issue. Please help!! ! I hate not getting notifications!!

So currently, you see the notification badge on Messages but there's no other audio or similar notifications. So we'd recommend reviewing Change message notifications on iPhone - Apple Support
and check the remaining settings that may be influencing this. Focus will be important to check, as that can silence notifications depending on the settings.
