Messages won’t send

When I try to message numerous contacts their name turns red and it will not send. How can I fix this?

If you can’t send email on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

you would also need an iphone and have this set up in order to send MMS Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad - Apple Support
