My problem is that "Touch ID" does not even show up in the list of options in System Settings after I activate the button according to instructions when I purchased my new keypad yesterday. I am running OS 13.4.1 on a Mac (just ran an OS update). My Mac is from 2019 and my Touch ID keyboard is brand new (Jul]y 2023). I tried rebooting twice and it did not work. Please help?

Also the other contributors suggestion to return it under the 14 Day No Questioned asked should work out well.
sorry, Touch ID only works with apple silicon Macs.
Since you just bought the keyboard, I would suggest you return it for one without touch.
