Siri is not reading back my text message dictation anymore.

I used to be able to ask Siri to send a message and she would read that message back to me before asking if I want to send it or edit it. Now, Siri just asks if I want to send it without reading back the message to me first. I want to turn on the setting that lets her read my message back to me before I send it so I know what I’m sending.

I’ve gone into my settings and turned on “prefer spoken responses”, and I’ve also made sure that “automatically send messages” is turned off. This hasn’t fix the problem.

Siri will still sometimes read my message back to me but is inconsistent. However, this tells me that Siri still has the ability to repeat messages before sending.

How can I configure Siri to always read my message dictation back to me before sending?

Hello KeraFlare,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.

This does not sound like expected behavior if you have already disabled the “automatically send messages” feature. It may help to restart and update your device:
