my 3 month old new iPhone13 suddenly went dead. Battery at least 80%. Won't restart. Once it gave me a pulsing green apple symbol and green lights at bottom of screen. device got very hot and although plugged into various power sources there is no response.

What did Apple Support tell you when you contacted them?
Bring it in to the Apple Store.
