Upgrade to Monterey 12.6.7 caused trackpad errors

I can click in middle of trackpad but can’t drag it or use left and right sides of trackpad. Help please

Selection issue after "upgrade" to Monterey Ever since updating to Monterey, I often cannot select, or click, into fields with my touchpad unless the application is maximized. This happens within chrome, microsoft products, and even the operating system itself. For instance, in order to put the computer to sleep from the menu, or use the menu bar for any application from the desktop (not a maximized application window) I have to move my mouse pointer to the VERY top line and click, and then I will be able to move the pointer down, select the apple, and then select the sleep option. In applications like excel I actually cannot click in a cell to activate it, I have to use the arrow keys to navigate around. If I maximize the application it will function normally. Has anyone else seen this issue?
