Apple won’t offer money for an iMac trade-in that old.

You might try selling it privately, if you want.

I see some iMac 2015 models listed on an auction site for USD$75 with some bids (plus shipping), some others asking ~USD$200 (plus shipping) with no bids.

Apple will recycle at no charge.

My Late 2015 21.5" iMac got me an offer of $70US after it was physically evaluate. $70 is not $0 but it was far too small to accept. That Mac now has an SSD and is a joy to use. It's our backup iMac now.

Even with an external SSD, its performance was far greater than the dismally slow internal HDD. WE all need backups and that is not limited to data.

Follow on regarding " Not accepting Serial Number "

Have a database of all machines / iPhones Serial Numbers I Own.

Guess my database had the wrong serial number when first doing the illustration, as it too errored out.

Double check via " About this Mac " or Login to My Apple ID >> Devices

It should list all the relevant details including the correct serial number

That is what I needed to do before uploading the previous image

Copy & paste the serial number so that you don't misread any of the characters. Some characters can be hard to distinguish. For example, there are no letter "Ohs" in a serial number, they are all the number zero.

Be careful with others such as:

Letter "B" and number "8"

S 5

Z 2

L 1

Plus be careful with the letter "Q" and zero as the tail for the "Q" can sometimes be hard to detect.

G and C can sometimes be hard to distinguish as well.

So it is best to copy & paste the serial number from "About This Mac" or the System Profiler into the box on the Apple website.

Once in a while a correctly entered serial number may not be recognized, but that seems to be very rare in my experience.
