Unable to remove adult member from family group?

I am unable to remove an adult member from the family group.

It was a share ID we used in the family before family sharing was a thing. Now that family sharing is fully functional want to remove this id.

Unfortunately cannot log in to this ID as this Apple IS is no longer active.

Is there any way to remove this AppleId (member) from the family group?

Hello AllanF,

The following user guide can help you with the process for removing a member of a Family Sharing group: Leave or remove a member from a Family Sharing group on iPhone - Apple Support

Remove a member from a family group

The organizer of a Family Sharing group can remove other members. When a family member is removed, they immediately lose access to shared subscriptions and content purchased by other members.

1. Go to Settings  > [your name] > Family Sharing.
2. Tap [member’s name], then tap Remove [member’s name] from Family.
You can’t remove a child from your Family Sharing group. However, you can move them to another group or delete their Apple ID. See the Apple Support article Move a child to another group using Family Sharing.
If you turned on Screen Time for a teen, you need to turn off Screen Time settings before you can remove them from the group. See Set up Screen Time for a family member on iPhone.

Please note, only the organizer of the group may remove members. If the original Apple ID was the organizer it will be necessary to create a new group with a new organizer.

Regards.
