TV app no audio playback

My MBP works well and I have very few issues ever. However, when I try to watch something via the TV app, audio rarely works.

I have my MBP in closed clamshell, connected to 3 screens, via OWC Thunderbolt 3 docks (both Pro and standard versions. My audio plays back via a PreSonus Studio 1810c. My primary Mac usage is video production, including surround audio. I use this setup professionally every day and have been working on my ownMacs producing video professionally, since 2003 - I am pretty proficient.

HOWEVER, trying to watch content on the Apple TV App is a nightmare! The audio does not default to the settings for every single other app on my system! How is this?

I am at a loss for how to fix this - it's bonkers!!!!

Can anyone help?

Just taking a stab at this. If you switch the sound output to the internal speakers instead of the PreSonus interface, does the audio play normally? If so, it may be a DRM issue in which case, there may not be anything you can do.

You might want to contact PreSonus and ask if anyone else has had the problem if you haven't already.
