The speakers are fine when playing other peoples recordings and there are no issues with playing music, so it must be a microphone issue. Does anyone know how to sort this?

Do you mean you hear it after the video is recorded and you are listening to it? If that’s the case, it most likely is the microphone. There could be some dirt or debris inside of it.
On the other hand, if you hear it while recording, I have no clue…
