yes very disappointing, fall detection feature is a false positive as many other consumers are experiencing the same problem.
Not disappointing, just reality. The fall has to exceed a trigger level otherwise you would be cancelling alerts almost continuously.
Depending the direction of the fall and the forces acting on the arm wearing the watch, it might appear as a normal movement. For example, I tripped and pretty much got into a fist fight with a metal railing, enough to break bones in my hand. No alert because a punching type movement did not meet the parameters. However, using a hammer may generate enough false alerts that I have to take the watch off while I work. Simply a movement in a different direction.
You still have the opportunity to shout "Hey Siri call [a contacts name]" or "Hey Siri dial 911"
If you fall hard enough to be unconscious and don't move the chances of it detection and calling emergency services are pretty high.
At my age I try to avoid falling over at all.
Very disappointing!
Thanks, but I am still disappointed.
You have 14 days from date of purchase to return the watch for a full refund.
