why can't I save a parking pass in Wallet?

I see the "Add to Apple Wallet" option on the confirmation email for my reservation, and when I click on it an image of the QR code confirmation appears with no further instructions about how it's supposed to be added to Wallet.

Hello patrickfromconcrete,.

Let's follow the steps below which can help:

1. Check that you're able to use Apple Pay:
* Contact your card issuer to see if they support Apple Pay.
* Update to the latest version of iOSwatchOS, or macOS.
* Confirm that you have Face IDTouch ID, or a passcode set on your device
* Make sure that you are in a supported country or region.
* Check that your device is compatible with Apple Pay.
2. Check for service outages or connection issues.
3. Contact your bank or card issuer if you see the following error messages while adding your card to Apple Wallet:
* Could Not Add Card
* Invalid Card
* Card Device Limit

Apple does not approve or decline cards for use with Apple Pay. If your card was declined, contact your bank or card issuer.

If you need help adding a card, learn how to set up Apple Pay.

Yes, a QR code did pop up. The problem was that scanning it (multiple times, with iPhone camera, with two different QR readers) resulted in nothing, all that came up was some page on the Southwest Airlines site, which had absolutely nothing to do with what I was trying to accomplish.

I have given up on this specific misfire. I'll print the pass and carry it, like our cave-dwelling forbears of yore used to do. It's not the first time I've had trouble adding passes or ticket to Wallet, where it would be so convenient to have them. But consulting the Apple support pages and the community here has never resolved it.

I'll move on. Thanks for trying to help.

Hello patrickfromconcrete,

Thanks for clearing that up. You mentioned seeing the 'Add to Apple Wallet' button on your parking pass. When you tapped that, did you see an Add button in the top right of the screen that came up with the QR code? Just asking because the details for adding passes in Add, use, and share boarding passes, tickets, and other passes in Apple Wallet mentions that as one of the options if following the on screen directions doesn't work as expected.

If you haven't given that a try yet, do so now and report back what you find out.

Thanks.
