OS SYSTEM content triggers antivirus program

I have contacted avast several times over this issue. One recommendation was to make sure antivirus program was up to date. It is up to date. Make sure Antivirus files are up to date. It is up to date. Repair antivirus program. The issue is still not resolved. Every time I run a deep scan I get the same result. If I click on resolve nothing is resolved. Question are any of these 6 threats real????? OS 12.6 Monterey is my OS

No. Not a single one.

If I click on resolve nothing is resolved.

This is due to macOS System Integrity Protection. It will not allow you to modify or delete the operating system itself. Some people think it is protection against malware. It is actually protection against anti-malware.

First, some Avast background:

This case? Sure looks like six false-positives of “MacOs:AdAgent-EC[ADW]”. (Sic)

The app vendor forum is discussing these apparent false positives, too:

Options?

Remove the overly-noisy add-on anti-malware, and use the built-in anti-malware.

Or wait for Avast to release updated definitions.

PS: Yes, there have been other cases of the built-in malware defenses preventing add-on anti-malware from corrupting things. I expect we’ll see more.
