iPhone SE just quit sending and receiving phone calls

I have an iPhone SE that is just one year old. Yesterday it spontaneously quit sending or receiving phone calls and only intermittently allows texting. This is true for both cellular and wireless. I have followed all of the recommended steps for troubleshooting and have talked with tech support from my carrier. This has taken hours and hours, but they cannot find what is wrong. Is this a common problem? Is there a solution other than repeatedly taking out and reloading the SIM card and resetting network settings?

Check your iPhone settings

Go to Settings and turn on Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn it off. Check Do Not Disturb. Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb and make sure it's turned off. Check for any blocked phone numbers.
