Dictation on Mac in Google Docs?

Hello,

Dictation on Mac mentions that it can work anywhere that accepts text, but I cannot get it to work in Google Docs.

Additional info :

it is June 29th, 2023
I use the Google Docs in the Chrome web browser
I sucessfully used dictation in the Chrome browser search bar, but it does not trigger when editing a Google Doc
I tried setting the hotkey to "double press left command" and "double press control" to no avail.

After an hour of working on the document, the Mac dictation tool STOPPED working in my google doc. I cannot figure out why.

note: I use the Command key to display text larger wen hovering over it. This is an accessibility shortcut and does not function in the body of my google docs either.
