I'm buying a new MacBook and don't know how to transfer all of my data from my old iMac and old MacBook. Can someone walk me through this?

You have some options, but generally it's all or nothing. You can elect not to migrate all users, settings and such. If you start the process and realize you're going to move more than you want to, you can stop it before transfer starts.

The stage "Select the Information to transfer" has your options. The little ">" indicates you can expand that selection to further filter.

If you want full control of data migration, copy what you want to move to an external drive then copy to the new Mac's respective folders from them external..
