Account Recovery Contact Needed

Why am I getting this notification on my iPhone 14 when I already have set up an Account Recovery Contact? If I check the Settings on my iMac, the Account Recovery Contact is displayed. What is going on and how do I fix it?

Yeah, thanks. But that doesn't really address my issue. I already had an Account Recovery Contact, but kept getting messages that I needed to add one. So I ended up deleting the existing contact, and then creating it again. That worked.

Hello Golf Bird,

If you need to set up an account recovery contact on your iPhone, you can do so with these steps:

1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.
2. Tap Password & Security, then tap Account Recovery.
3. Under Account Recovery (or Recovery Assistance), tap Add Recovery Contact, then authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID.
4. If you're in a Family Sharing group, the members of the group are recommended. Or you can choose one of your contacts.
5. If you select a family member, they're added automatically. If you select a contact, they need to accept the request. You also send them a message to let them know that you'd like to add them as your recovery contact.
6. After they accept your request, you see a message that they have been added as your account recovery contact.
