Apps are taking up all my storage

My applications show up as taking up 70gb when they don't even add up to 10gb. I have been trying to look for a solution but not seem to work. I have tried the spotlight rebuild, but that didn't work.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Using Mac Mini and Sonoma 14.0 but this has been a problem during previous OS. My apps are taking up 90% of my storage, and this is because every document created with each app is being stored on the hard disc. I have everything saved in a cloud server so I only need the app itself resident on my hard drive. When I uninstall and reinstall the apps, the documents always come along with it. How can I get the documents associated with the apps off my hard drive?

Interestingly on my MBP the exact same apps take up only 76G. The problem is on my Mac Mini, where they take up 364G. Non native apps are microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word. (I don't use Numbers, Mail, or Pages) Those apps do not take up that much space - the problem is that the documents created in those apps are being saved attached to them somehow on the hard drive and filling it up. I already have them saved in the cloud - I don't want them on the hard drive but can't figure out how to get the apps without all that data coming along with it.

The exact title of the article is not important. All its information completely applies, directly to your situation as well.

Follow the suggestion of downloading one of those two free Utilities. Set the Utility to work on your drive, and within a quarter hour it will tell you EXACTLY which are the biggest files, whose removal would provide INSTANT relief. Neither Utility modifies ANYTHING without you telling it to.

If you need help with ANY of that article suggestion, post back for more suggestions.
