The power adapter itself is of secondary importance. If you have an 85W power adapter with a USB-C connection, yes you can use it, but there is no USB-C Apple power adapter with that exact power. You can for example use their 87W MacBook Pro power adapter with that cable. You can also charge that Mac through its USB-C ports, using any USB power adapter: Charge your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro - Apple Support.
