Setting default email address with custom domain in iOS

Hi All,

I set up a custom domain just fine, and when (on my Mac) it asked which default email it should use (iCloud email or custom domain email) I chose custom and everything works fine.

On my iOS devices (iPhone and iPad), when I initiate the sending of an email, it defaults to my iCloud email address, and not my custom domain (which technically are both iCloud addresses). How do I change that default so I don't have to change the sender on every email? I've searched here and Googled but with no luck.

Hey SoCalAirHead,

You can find the option to change the default account for iOS Mail in Settings > Mail > Default Account.

I’m not sure if you still need help with this, but I just set up a custom domain and found this question while searching for a solution.

I ended up following these instructions and now the custom domain address comes up as the default from address on my iPhone.

Thanks WinsC1 but not exactly. If I have more than one mail account (such as iCloud and a secondary account) then yes, the Default Account option appears and I can choose between iCloud or secondary.

However... if I have just an iCloud account, with a custom domain, then there are two emails I can send from:

(for example)

SoCalAirHead@icloud

SoCalAirHead@custom

They are both under my "iCloud" email account so if I set the Default Account (or if I just have the iCloud email), then iOS defaults to SoCalAirHaed@icloud and I have no way of changing the default to SoCalAIrHead@custom. The setting seem to let me choose iCloud as default rather than another server but I cannot find where I can set WHICH ICLOUD email address to use as default.
