Unable to restore iPod Nano (3rd Generation)

I found my old iPod (3rd Generation, Software Version 1.1.3) and decided to put it back to use, but after plugging it into my pc, iTunes told me it was 'in recovery mode' and that I had to restore it. Upon hitting the restore button I was given an error (image attached) with the code 1439 alongside 'An unknown error occurred'. I've scoured the internet but haven't been able to find any fixes.

p.s. Clicking 'more info' on the error message just sends me to a blank apple page that says the page you're looking for can't be found

Here's what I'm seeing on the iTunes page

If anyone knows a fix for this weird obscure issue then I'd be eternally grateful :) I can provide any extra details in the comments if I've forgotten to mention anything in this post.

Yeah the iPod itself seems to be working perfectly fine, it'll give me the whole 'connecting' and 'syncing' screens when I connect it. When it's not connected to anything it'll stay on and functional as if nothing was wrong. Also I have tried reinstalling iTunes several times, from both the native windows store and from the official apple website. Thanks for trying to help! but haha this issue seems **** near impossible to fix without hotswapping some hardware

Apple is always extremely vague with their errors, so this is a shot in the dark...

As this iPod is ~14 years old and hasn't been used in a while, the hard drive and/or battery might not be working anymore. Does anything happen on the screen when you plug it in and does it stay on when unplugged?

Also maybe try reinstalling iTunes - this could be a software issue

Hope this helps
