Norton 360 deluxe - Do or don't?

I received an offer to use Norton 360 Deluxe and read at several places online that it makes no sense for Mac users to use anti-virus software because of the built-in software in Mac OS and that this program would unnecessarily slow down my Mac.

What is your experience/advice? Do or don't?

Thanks

Hi there!

You are correct! It’s recommended that you avoid using antivirus and security apps. Mac computers have built-in security, which is superior than any 3rd party product. To learn more, take a look at macOS - Security - Apple and Protecting against malware in macOS - Apple Support.

Hope this helps!
