external webcams with Mac Studio
I have Samsung 32" M80C Smart Monitor. My new 2023 Mac Studio can't connect to the built in camera

I tried a USB-C connection but my camera is built into my display and Mac Studio can't find it. I also tried connecting with Skype and other Apps but no luck. I plan on buying an iPhone mount and mirroring my FaceTime calls unless you have better advice

From what I can tell, it looks like you need to use the USB-C connection for the web cam to work.
For more info on making that connect, check the User Guide or contact Samsung.
Macs do not have HDMI inputs, only outputs. if you connect using an HDMI cable the webcam can not be seen.
A webcam on a USB-C or Thunderbolt Display can be used.
a webcam connected to a USB port directly can be used.
How is it connected?
using a HDMI cable
Hi, I too have the same problem as you. Did you manage to solve it? What version of Ventura are you using? The webcam never worked even with older versions of Ventura?
