Silent Mode Frustration

Could there not be an icon displayed to show the status of Silent Mode. Perhaps a red bell for no sound, a yellow bell for vibrate, and a green bell for on. Very frustrating that the status cannot be determined by looking at the screen.

Are you referring to Focus modes? On macOS these are visible within the Menu Bar. On iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, they are visible from the Control Center.


You can try scheduling Focus modes for school/work, studying, or any activity if you're consistently doing it at certain times of day. For example, my Work Focus mode, turns on at 8am and turns off at 5pm. You can do this for all Focus modes and that way you never have to worry about turning them on/off. There is also smart activation where if you always turn it on, say at a coffee shop, your iPhone will remember this and turn it on as you arrive and off as you leave.


If you have additionally suggestions / feedback, you can submit it to Apple and hope it's added in a future update - Product Feedback - Apple.
