Refund

Purchased something on line with my visa debit card, returned goods to store for refund. Refund went on my Apple Pay, contactless, via shop machine, tick verified… but it’s not appeared in my bank. Looking at refund receipt it says it paid to and card number as last 4 digits are not that of the card I purchased with or the refund virtual card!!! What does this mean??? Bank says no pending shop says it’s not down to them? Does Apple Pay refunds show as a different card number?? Account?? Then will it be paid to my normal bank account??
