Okay. Backups usually happen while you’re sleeping and your iPhone is locked and charging, and either connected on Wi-Fi or on 5G for iPhone models with 5G cellular and 5G cellular plans that allow that.

Do you have more than ~48 GB of data on your iPhone?

iCloud+ is what Apple now calls paid subscriptions. iCloud+ is paid, has more storage, and has some added features.

iCloud is effectively now (and confusingly) the name of the 5 GB free tier.

Restart your iPhone to ensure it recognizes the storage increase, and try the backup again.
