Send cinematic videos from iPhones to devices

Cinematic videos are awesomeness, can't wait until we can shoot 4K cinematic. However, one much important piece of the puzzle don't work for us.

We have several iPhones filming. Now we want to collect all these files in one project folder to be edited.

After doing some research I understand the files can't leave the iPhone (or the photographers' iCloud Photos library) until it has been crunching the movie for a while, which can be sped up by manually starting the process. For us this means all the phones are going their separate ways before the files can be sent to one location.

I've tried Dropbox request links, but the movie coming in has lost its cinematic properties and the editor can't change the focus anymore.

How are we supposed to send these files from iPhone?

Have a nice day,

John

You may use iCloud Photos / iCloud Drive only.

Make edits to Cinematic effects on other devices

You can edit Cinematic mode video effects in the Photos app on any of these devices with iOS 15 or iPadOS 15:

  • iPhone XS, iPhone XR, and later
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation and later)
  • iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  • iPad mini (5th generation and later)

To make sure that a video taken in Cinematic mode can be edited on another supported device, use iCloud Photos or AirDrop. If you use AirDrop, turn on All Photos Data before you send:

  1. Open the Photos app, then tap the video that you want to share.
  2. Tap the Share button , then tap Options at the top of the screen.
  3. Turn on All Photos Data, then tap Done.
  4. Tap the AirDrop button, then tap the device that you want to send to.
