How does Apple Cash work. It’s linked to my debit card but I sent $100 to a friend and only $99.16 came out of my checking account? Did my friend receive the $100 or tge $99.16. How does this work?

Whenever sending money, the money within the Apple Cash Card will be used first. My bet is you had 0.84 within the Apple Cash Card, which is why only a charge for $99.16 was posted on your debit card / bank account.

After I upgraded to ios 17 this no longer works. If I make a payment, the money in Apple Cash stays there. The only option I can see is after I pay with my default card, then I can go to Apple Cash and select Transfer To Bank. I wish it still worked the way you discribed.
