iOS 16.5 - timer soon disappears from lock screen
SEE WORKAROUND at bottom. So another iOS 16.5 post here, which in my last post I had had for about a week and now it's been about a month. So the timer displays on the lock screen **just fine** but only for maybe a half hour or less. I saw another post about this and the issue was ignored. I can see the timer on the lock screen **just fine**, with its new display, appearing darker and at the bottom, with a little close button. That's fine, whatever. Not crazy about it immediately b/c the close button on the lock screen means you could accidentally destroy it from the lock screen, but whatever. That is **not** what's happening here as the timer is most definitely running, but it ***disappears*** from the lock screen after a while, and I'd estimate that to be something around 30 minutes, based on my experience, and this has happened to me at least let's say 20 or 30 times. A little background, I usually set timers from let's say as short as 3 minutes up to maybe 4 hours. So the problem will not appear with a short timer I believe, or I don't recall seeing it, but the problem **always** occurs with a long timer. So let's say I set a two-hour timer. Everything will be fine, showing up on the lock screen at first but after a while it will not show up. So let's say my phone is sitting there, screen off, I lift it to show the lock screen, lock screen appears but no timer this time, even though it may have appeared the last time I lifted the phone in this same way. I think to myself: "Am I nuts? What happened to my timer? This has never happened before on iOS." So I go into the clock app, and sure enough, my timer appears there, running just fine, it's just not appearing on the lock screen.
As I say I've definitely never seen this before, so attributing it to a new bug in iOS 16.
But I found a workaround and even though it's annoying to have to use this at least it brings back the timer...
WORKAROUND: Go into the Clock app and click "Pause" on the timer and then "Resume" and the timer again will now show up on the lock screen. As I recall going into the app alone was not sufficient to show it again on the lock screen, but for some reason pause/resume is sufficient.
