Emailed jpegs won’t open on iPhone

iPhone is updated with iOS 16.5. Emails with photo attachments show “image1.jpeg” and I cannot access the image.

Same issue on my iPad.

I do not have a Mac.

I looked at past solutions but they didn’t help.

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 16

Hello -2277-,

Let's start by checking a privacy setting.

On the iPhone, tap on Settings > Mail > Privacy Protection. If Block All Remote Content is on, toggle that off. Images will not appear with that toggled on.

If Protect Mail Activity is toggled on, you will not see the Privacy Protection. Toggle it off and check the Block All Remote Content setting if needed.

Cheers.
