I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro (iOS 16.5) and not able to see the WhatsApp in the ‘My Watch’ applications list hence not able to receive messages on my Apple Series 8 watch.
All notification are on. I have also tried hard resetting my Apple Watch.

If you receive a WhatsApp message, you will see a kind of 'notification' (a ping sound) on your Apple Watch.
You have to read the WhatsApp message on the iPhone.

Correct, because WhatsApp is not an app for Apple Watch (as posted).
You can also check at Apple Watch app -> App View -> Grid View or List View. No WhatsApp app listed.

Likewise, I couldn't see my watsapp in the list of app on my apple watch ultra that i've just setup. Funnily, watsapp business (i have two watsapp "app" on my iPhone) appears under the list of app in my new watch ultra. I'm sure watsapp business is not an official app for apple watch either.

If something isn't there, you have to settle for what is.
the watch app on your iphone will only list the apps that are supported by the watch it will not list apps you have on your iphone that does not have an watch enabled version.
