Select all feature in safari reader mode

Here is my situation! I use safari reader mode to copy text and paste into a text to speech app to listen to instead of reading when I can read like driving etc.

I had an iPhone 12 Pro Max until a few days ago till I upgraded to a iPhone 14 Pro Max. On my 12pro max I used to be able to go to to reader mode in safari single finger press and hold and it would select a text and then a ribbon would a appear and I could copy but also there was the select all function and it would select all the loaded text in reader mode and from there I would copy.

Now that I have an 14 pro max and I follow through with that same process the select all function is gone!! I heavily really on this select all feature in my daily going’s through my day. Why is it gone? This is a great function and it has not reason to be removed. Is there another way to access it that I’m missing? If not please return this function in an update. There should be no reason for it to be missing. I implore apple to return this function.

Thank You

Hi enja144,

Steps to select and copy text on iPhone in iOS 16 can be found here: Select, cut, copy, and paste text on iPhone - Apple Support

Select and edit text
1. To select text, do any of the following:
* Select a word: Double-tap with one finger.
* Select a paragraph: Triple-tap with one finger.
* Select a block of text: Double-tap and hold the first word in the block, then drag to the last word.

5. After selecting the text you want to revise, you can type, or tap the selection to see editing options:
* Cut: Tap Cut or pinch closed with three fingers two times.
* Copy: Tap Copy or pinch closed with three fingers.
* Paste: Tap Paste or pinch open with three fingers.
* Select All: Select all the text in the document.
* Replace: View suggested replacement text, or have Siri suggest alternative text.
* Format: Format the selected text.
* the Forward button: View more options.

If you do not see the option you'd like by default or under view more options, we recommend sharing feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

To select all text on a Safari webpage on an iPhone, do the following:

  1. Press the share button (square with arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the webpage.
  2. Choose Print from the menu that comes up.
  3. Pinch (two fingers moving away from each other) the first preview image at the bottom of the print screen to enlarge the image. This will turn the document that you are supposedly printing into a PDF.
  4. Proceed as you normally would to copy text in a PDF document: Tap and hold on any word in the document, choose the select all option in the menu that comes up, tap again and select Copy in the menu that pops up to copy the text you just selected and then paste it wherever you want to!
